Stress Management

This product is one of Victoria Fortner’s original formulas and it combines a couple of her well used formulas together with nourishing tonic herbs to provide a healthy mental attitude, promote relaxation and good digestion.

A little about the herbs in this formula:

Hawthorn berry & leaf – Crataegus monogyna
Victoria was one of the few herbalists that knew hawthorn for it’s affects as an adrenal tonic. Your Adrenals are important in your ability to cope with stress as they produce the needed hormones for daily functioning. Hormones like cortisol which is precisely what the body uses in response to stress, and it also helps to regulate your metabolism. And Aldosterone, this hormone helps control blood pressure. Both of which can become imbalanced in situations of prolonged stress. Hawthorn is popularly known as a cardiac tonic, and can help strengthen and rebuild damaged heart tissue. It has also been noted as being: Astringent, antispasmodic, cardiac tonic, carminative, diuretic, sedative, stimulant, vasodilator.

Kelp – Ascophyllum nodosum
Kelp is a sea vegetable that is loaded with vitamins and minerals. It is highly nutritive and great in times of stress for that very reason. Our bodies utilize every nutrient possible, especially in times of stress and we can’t get enough in our daily food intake to make up for the lack. Kelp is a great supplement for that. It also is one of the best herbs for thyroid problems, the thyroid is also responsible for making specific hormones to support the metabolic system. Kelp is also know as: an expectorant, demulcent, emollient, alterative, diuretic, nutritive, thyroid tonic, anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, metabolic stimulant.

Eluethro Senticosis – Eleuthrococcus senticosis
Eluethro, previously known as Siberian Ginseng, is a fantastic adaptogen. It is a tonic for energy and congnative development. It improves the immune system which is always helpful in times of stress because the immune system is automatically supressed in stressful situations leaving you susteptible to catching bugs and infections going around. Eluethero is also know for being: anti-inflammatory, hepatic tonic, anti-coagulant, improves short term memory, immuno-modulator.
