“As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” Psalm 17:15

This world we are living in these days cries out for us to be continually dissatisfied. We never have enough. Even thou some 90% of us have it all. We in countries like America and Europe have nothing to really complain about. We have warm homes, food in the fridge (we have a fridge!), we have gas in cars in our garages and family and friends who love and support us.

But the internet and the tv and the stores all say the same thing. “Hurry up.” “You’re missing out”. “Hustle.” “Go big or go home.” “You deserve more”, “Stand out, make a splash, influence”… and on and on.

And, to a point they are right. We are not made to be entirely satisfied in this world. We are longing for a world we were separated from long ago in the garden. A world where we walked side-by-side with the Gardener. A world where peace and joy reign and the toils and trials of this life will be ended.

But these current trials and briars and feelings of never reaching a “we’ve made it” point, are fleeting, just a vapor.

And the Bible has a very different message. Messages like; “Be still” (psalm 46:10), “You’ve been given everything with abundant mercy, an inheritance incorruptible” (1Peter 1:3-4), “Be discreet, chaste, keepers at home” (Titus 2:5), “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).

Just a little reminder for all of us today to shut out the worlds message that we are lacking anything. Remember to open the Word and find true satisfaction, fulfillment and purpose for everyday.

Again, cause this one is just singing hope to my soul today…
