Let’s talk about typical cleaners.
So, I say ‘typical’ cleaners, cause most of us have some form of bleach, disinfecting sprays, toilet bowl scrubs or other harsh toxin based cleaners found in our homes that we use on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis in the name of ‘sanitation’. This is all in efforts to protect our selves and families… or so we think. Let me share with you some facts and statistics shared in “Gameplan” by Sarah Harnisch:
“The #2 cause of death in the United States is cancer. I don’t know anyone who has not been touched in some way by this dreadful disease. 1,620 people a day die of cancer. 1 in 3 cases in the U.S. are directly linked to: poor diet, physical inactivity, weight, or… chemical exposure. The American Cancer Society says only 5 to 10 percent of all can cer cases are from gene defects. 5%. That means 95% of cancer cases are caused that we can control. It’s what we allow into our homes.
“The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health studied 2,983 ingredients in out products at home – and found 884 toxic ingredients. 314 of them caused biological mutations. 218 caused reproductive problems. 778 were toxic to the human body. 146 they knew caused cancer tumors – but were allowed in the United States, even though they were banned in other countries around the world. Many of these [toxic] chemicals are allowed in common cleaning supplies in the U.S. – things under your cabinets right now.
“26 second after exposure, chemicals are found in measurable amounts in the human body.
“Some of the most dangerous chemical in our homes: Air fresheners; like plug ins or candles. Cleaning supplies, drain and oven cleaners, furniture polish, as well as dishwasher soap and dish soap. Beauty supplies and personal care products; hairspray, gel, shampoo and deodorant are laden with toxic chemicals. Most antiperspirant deodorant contains aluminum and we slather it on our lymph nodes for 70 years. Many scientists understand that aluminum exposure may be linked to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Another top pollutant in the family home is laundry soap and fabric softener – you wash your clothes, it sits on your skin, it out-gasses in your closet all night long.’
How does this affect you?
You may see it in something as catastrophic as cancer. But most of us feel it in other ways: Lethargy. Inability to focus. Respiratory issues. Sleep trouble. Chronic inflammation. Headaches. Migraines. Unexplained pain. Skin issues – adult acne. hot flashes. Stress. Anxiety.

So my water softener has not been working for three days and we have very hard water and seven people in our house. So as I was showering today I couldn’t stand the rust/copper residue on my tub. So I mixed a tiny bit (1/4 teas.) of Thieves Household Cleaner with water (2 oz.) in a small spray bottle…..
